| 学生扩充词汇量时总觉得很苦,时时查词典,坚持不下来, 训练学生的猜词习惯,并指导他们课外读一些有趣又不难懂的读物,对轻松愉快地扩大词汇量是很有帮助的。 |
1) 策略:词汇学习策略教学 2) 教学目标:呈现 3) 教学过程 Step 1 After Ss reading through the passage and having got a general idea of it, group Ss and let students be word detectives and guess the meaning of the underlined words .They are required to give their clues. This way students will know how to get a new word’s meaning in a certain context and at the same time practice describing things. Step 2 Collect ideas from Ss and exchange ideas with them to make the clues more convincing. For example: cargo hold: some place on a plane, and the place a cat most probably hides and hasn’t been seen for quite a long time should be: “货舱” or something like that. reptile: a common kind of small animal, not a cat, dog, fish or bird, then,it may be … rhino: a very big animal and it’s black, not an elephant, tiger, lion, giraffe, kangaroo , what can it be? Spider: poisonous animals that often come to people’s mind are “蛇”(还有眼镜蛇等分类的词也有可能)、“蜘蛛”、“蝎子”等 Toucan: a rare kind of bird that likes to eat bananas. Step 3 Conclusion: Tell Ss guessing words in a context that is not so hard to understand is an efficient way to learn new words in extensive reading.
