策略:阅读学习策略

教学目标:呈现

教学对象:高一或高二

教学过程:

Step I Pre-reading

1. Give Ss a situation “If you caught a cold, what would you do?” (Maybe students will say “I will go to see a doctor and he will examine me and give me some medice and ask me to have a rest.”)

2. Except this kind of doctor in hospital can cure your sickness, why not see the doctor of Chinese traditional medicine in hospital? They can also cure your illness, so you can have a better choice.

3.Aftter having medicne, the doctor advise you to have a good rest in your home or you can go to a special place. We call it “Health spas”. There a special doctor look after you. Now let’s read the following text. Then find the answers to the questions.

Step II While-reading

Answer the following questions:

1)      How many branches of medicine are there?

2)      What are they called?

3)      In the three areas of medicne what did the doctors do for the patients?

4)      What does “spas” mean?

Divide the Ss into groups of four, discuss their answers and tell each other how they find the answers.

Step III Post-reading

Judge the following statements true or false.  (   )

1)      There are two branches of medicine

2)      One is called doctor medicine, in which less educated people try to cure sicknesses with various herbs. These folk healers also use observation and logic, but they dont realize it. (   )

3)      Folk medicine, in which scientific doctors try to observe sicknesses, look for logical patterns, and then find out how the human body works. (   )

分析:通过阅读前给学生创设一个情形—看病是去看西医还是去看中医,自然就把医学分成了两类,为阅读下文做好了铺垫。恢复期间一般到哪里去疗养,大多数学生有一个概念就是在家里,这时老师创设一个悬念——还可以到另外一个地方去疗养。在阅读中设置问题主要是培养学生scanning的技巧,并通过讨论来实践这种技巧。课后阅读部分的设置检查学生对文本材料的主要信息的记忆是否清楚,训练了他们的认知能力。
