设计一个基于节日的跨文化教育的活动

St. Valentine's Day and the Chinese Valentine's Day.
这个月19日刚好是农历7月初7，是中国神话故事，牛郎织女相会的日子。这个日子也就是中国传统的七夕。而随着国际化的不断发展，西方的情人节已经慢慢的溶入了中国社会，也成了许多普通百姓关注和庆祝的节日。同时，随着华人的足迹遍及全球，中华文化的影响也日益扩大，几乎世界每个角落都有人庆祝中国的节日，春节就是其中之一。。所以我选择这个题目作为节日跨文化活动设计的主题。

I.  Pre-activity
Divide the class into two groups, and ask each group to find some information about the St. Valentine's Day and the Chinese Valentine's Day.
在这里我之所以选择情人节和七夕，一是因为高中生对于情人节有一种异样的情感，想要在课上谈论，可是又不敢随心所欲的讨论，这是他们的年龄以及生理心理特点决定的。选择这个话题，学生应该比较感兴趣，也愿意去做准备；而七夕是因为情人节的原因再次进入人们视线的节日，年轻人对此了解并不多。让学生去自己准备材料可以拓展他们的知识，也是对我国传统节日的一次了解。
II. While-activity
1. Ask students to tell three key words each to describe the two festivals in class。（考察学生对于所查找到资料的整合和概括能力）
2. Make a table on the blackboard to list the similarities and differences between the two festivals. (e.g. how to celebrate the festival and so on. )（使得信息系统化）
3. Invite some students from each group to act out the romantic stories about the origin of the two festivals, to let the class know more about them. （英语课为背景，文化差异为内容的一个整合）
4. Discussion
Why do the two stories, which carry similar origin have different ways to celebrate and have different influence to us? （活动的高潮，学生可以将课前准备的材料与自己的生活经验结合起来，发表自己的看法。实际上也是文化背景的进一步理解）
III. Post-activity (optional)
a. Finish the list about the similarities and differences between the St. Valentine's Day and the Chinese Valentine's Day.
b. Find more similar festivals from different culture background.
    （学生在两项作业之间二选其一，考虑到学生的差异。程度较好的学生和对此话题十分感兴趣的同学可以利用课外时间拓展自己的文化知识储备，提升跨文化意识。）
